This accommodation is surrounded by fishing and boating water, in the center of one of the oldest inhabited areas of the Netherlands: northwest Groningen. Lots of space, and lots of stars at night. This farm dates from 1831 and is suitable for groups of up to 25–41 people. To the east and south, it's surrounded by a garden and patios. The Hoornstervaart, in which you can swim in summer, is right outside the front door. The farm offers a comfortable, smoke-free environment for a family holiday, a weekend break with friends, or a reunion with former colleagues. Also suitable for school groups, as long as they're supervised.
A holiday home in Groningen with authentic character
The authentic character of the farmhouse is accentuated by the original, timber frame bents. A large living space is equipped with a wood stove and underfloor heating. The spacious open kitchen offers plenty of space to cook for the entire group, but catering is also an option. Breakfast and lunch packages can be provided, or a simple yet tasty meal. And if you'd like to spoil yourself with a real culinary treat, we can arrange for a chef to cook for you in-house. The accommodation sleeps up to 41 people. The bedrooms are on both the ground floor and the first floor (see the floor plan). If you need more 2-person rooms, the 3 B&B rooms in the adjoining house can be booked at a reduced surcharge. From the kitchen, you have access to the patio, with plenty of tables and chairs. In the large, enclosed garden, which features a volleyball net, trampoline, and table tennis table, there's also a covered shed with a barbecue.
Canoeing together on a weekend break in Groningen
The accommodation is located right on the Hoornstervaart and has its own dock, from which you can go out on long excursions in a canoe or a 'marenboot' (a motorized rowboat). Canoe and bike rental is offered. The accommodation is also the starting point for various walking and biking routes through the beautiful landscape of the Groningen Highlands. The Wadden Sea is at 10 kilometers distance. How about a day trip to Schiermonnikoog? And there's no reason to be bored if the weather is bad, either. For example, Adventure Park Waddenfun is nearby. Also, the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Center in Pieterburen, the Pieterpad long-distance walking route, Lauwersmeer and the city of Groningen.
