You have the chance to stay at a unique place surrounded by meadows. In a wide circle, you can find nostalgic 'Veldhuysjes' on wheels. This 'village' can accommodate at least twenty people (five veldhuysjes). Each wagon has four single beds. The wagon also offers the necessary comfort, such as good beds, a storage cabinet, a table, and a small kitchen block (no running water). There is a fire basket outside, to gather around in a large circle together. The shared space is in a pavilion tent and includes kitchen facilities. There are two such accommodations available on the estate.
How about a game of canoe polo during your weekend in Utrecht?
You will be able to rent canoes on location (three canoes are always included), and there are plenty of other sports and play opportunities. How about a game of canoe polo; a playing field has been set on the water with floating targets. The game is played from an unsteady boat, so create speed, pass, and score. Those who prefer to take it easy, can try out golf at the Pitch and Putt course. There is also a beach volleyball court. For the little ones, there is a children's farm with play facilities and a toddler pool.
View over the water and meadows of the Groene Hart
The sanitary building, with six showers and four toilets, is centrally located on the estate. The pavilion tent is furnished with teak benches and cushions, and is heated with a robust Danish wood-burning stove and infrared lamps. You will need to add wood from large baskets with logs yourself to keep the stove burning. French garden doors will give you access to the wooden terrace, from where you have a view over the water and the meadows of the Groene Hart. The pavilion tent has a simple kitchen design and a refrigerator, so that self-catering is also possible. If you do not feel like preparing your own meals, the restaurant is open all year round, which is literally within a stone's throw from this group accommodation.
