Meerveld is a small village in the municipality of Apeldoorn with about 400 inhabitants, largely on one main road with some side roads. The village is largely surrounded by extensive forests, heathlands and De Hoge Veluwe nature park. Many cycling and hiking routes can be made in a varied environment, with the areas directly around Meerveld being as interesting as visiting the official De Hoge Veluwe nature park. Despite the small inhabitants and the few houses, the area belonging to Meerveld is great for a village. In addition, there is a lot of agriculture in the area.
Meerveld is located near Uddel and the N302 (Meervelderweg) and consists for the most part of the Kroondomein Meervelder Bos. Near Armerveld is a military base. The hamlet can be reached by public transport. Furthermore, Garderen is a short distance from the inhabited area of Meerveld. Apeldoorn is the nearest big city.
Meerveld offers some shops such as an outdoor shop and a garden center. But also in the catering sector there is sufficient supply in the Theetuin De Buxushoeve and in Herberg 't Vossegat. In the vicinity of Meerveld you can also find various activities such as Julianatoren, Bospad Putten, Palace of Loo, Wildpark het Aardhuis and the Apenheul.
