Welcome to Samadet in France, where this beautiful estate is located.  This accommodation is the manor house, cottage for 6 people and the barn, which can accommodate 30 people in total. The 17th-century estate consists in total of a manor house, barn and two cottages for 4 and 6 people (see other listings to book the estate in total or choose a different composition). In French, houses have taken the feminine form ‘La Maison’ and this accommodation is no exception. From the accommodation, you look out over the French countryside as far as the eye can see, with views of the Pyrenees to the south. An ideal place to unwind and enjoy this peaceful setting and nature.

Staying in the country house, cottage (sleeps 6) and barn is a unique experience, as the house has retained most of its original features. But, with each generation of the family, the house has also been modernised in some ways. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with all modern amenities such as, gas cooker (also electric), fridge, freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher. The country house has 7 double bedrooms, one of which has a bathroom and one with a toilet. A shared bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and sink is also on the first floor of the country house. The barn has 4 double bedrooms, one of which has an extra double bunk bed. Again, there is one bedroom with bathroom facilities and on the ground floor there is also a shared bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The cottage is a former stable that has been lovingly renovated to accommodate up to 6 guests. This accommodation also features a fully equipped kitchen. The cottage has 3 large bright bedrooms with double beds. Of which two bedrooms are on the first floor and one is on the ground floor with wheelchair access. The cottage has two bathrooms, one on the ground floor (wheelchair-friendly) and the second bathroom on the first floor. On the terrace you can have a nice get-together and enjoy the surroundings and a snack and a drink. The country house also has a barbecue. On the estate is a swimming pool (open from April to October), play barn and other play facilities (if there are other guests on the property, the facilities are shared with other guests. The exception is if the estate is booked as a whole). 

Enjoy the peaceful surroundings

The accommodation is set in 4 hectares of enclosed grounds, surrounded by the French countryside. Around Samadet are plenty of places of interest to visit. The accommodation is well located in the heart of Les Landes with the Pyrenees 1.5 hours to the south and the Atlantic coast 1.5 hours to the west, both ideal for day trips. The surrounding area is also great for a nice walk or bike ride. A popular attraction is the collegiate church of Saint-Barthélémy in Pimbo (about 13 km from the accommodation). The church is half castle and half place of worship and behind the church is a beautiful botanical garden with stunning views of the Pyrenees, if desired it is possible to take a guided tour here. There are also many local markets to visit, including those in Hagetmau and Geaune (both 10 minutes‘ drive away) and one in Aire-sur-l'Adour (25 minutes’ drive away). These markets offer fresh vegetables, fruit, cheeses and meat as well as nice local products. The boulangerie and general shop are a 10-minute walk away, or perhaps take a bike from the chateau through the quiet country lanes. Whether you want to relax, cycle a Tour-de-France route, or grab a bite to eat at the local Michelin-starred restaurant in Eugenie-Les-Bains or immerse yourself in local history, it's all possible around Samadet.
