Someren (in Brabants Zummere) is the main nucleus and seat of the town hall in the municipality of Someren with about 11000 inhabitants.

The municipality of Someren owns 1,615 hectares of nature reserves and plantations, including the Somerense Heide and Keelven. This was originally an area of uniform dry coniferous forests, but since 2001 it has been changed into a varied nature reserve, where the heath and the fens also come into their own again. Scottish Highlanders and other large grazers can also be found here. There are several walking routes. The Vloeten is also worth a visit: a humid nature reserve in which walking routes have also been set out. The Vlerken are a number of smaller, moist nature reserves that are connected by a walking route. In addition, part of the Strabrechtse Heide, including the Beuven, is located in Someren.

Nature theatre ‘De Donck’ is an open-air theatre near a beautiful forest area. The Someren theatre association ‘De Speledonckers’ plays here, while other theatre societies also give performances here. The Kennedy March Someren is an annual event, which is organized by JOEK (Youth Among Each Other). The first march took place in 1963 with 100 participants, while today about 3000 walkers participate. The march is accompanied by festivities in Someren and the centres through which the march leads.

Some interesting sights in Someren include the windmill De Victor; A stone belt mill from 1853. The windmill Den Evert (a post mill from 1543) and the Jozefkachapelje are also worth a visit. In addition, there are two interesting churches in Someren: the Sint-Lambertus church is a brick church from the beginning of the 20th century and the Protestant church has been in service since 1885.
